Where are stickies.
Is AVG free or not?
Thanks.
All the threads at the top of the forum are prefixed with "sticky" are there for a reason. There is one specifically for AVG, which sra put a bit dot in front of to catch everyone's attention specifically because so many people either ask what's up with AVG or mistakenly say that it will no longer be free."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

I've run ZoneAlarm free firewall and AVG free antivirus software (now 7.5, [evilgrin]) together on one PC for a year or two without problems...

I have Zone Alarm Pro and it contains Anti Virus protection too. I prefer AVG so I have the Anti Virus part turned off, but before I did there was a conflict between the two.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4.............................NCFC member No: 00005.........

Yes it is, it just becomes a little more annoying in the new version when it insists on running a scan every time it downloads an update.
There are alternatives like Avast and kaspersky just do a search for them if you dont want to stick with AVG.0 -

Windows Defender is the worse culprit for this. Since it upgraded to defender and even though I have my scan timetabled in. It just starts to scan as and when it feels like it. It drives me mad.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4.............................NCFC member No: 00005.........

Well I have had AVG on my pc now for a couple of years and it works fine! It also works along side Norton. However, I have recently been receiving emails from AVG informing me that my FREE subscription will end in February 2007. Has anyone else had an email of this type? Just a bit confused here as Martin is telling people to download AVG, as it is free.0

I think it's because it contains Microsoft's new patented Ultra-Annoyance 2.0 (randomly do something it wasn't asked that is laborious and distracting) technology"She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"
