My exchange has no LLU so I am IPSTREAM only, yet searching for a new provider it seems most have a 10GB-20GB cap, why? What happened to unlimited? The only provider that I can see that is unlimited is Orange who I am trying to get away from due to pityful speeds.
But apart from download limits I could maybe live with it if speeds weren't so dire at night, even basic browsing is a struggle at night let alone Youtube, iPlayer or online gaming
In the past i've been with
Orange
O2
BT
AOL
Wanadoo
All the same issue !!!!!! speeds at night and now more expensive and now with a cap.

If you are that far out from the exchange then another non-LLU provider is not going to make any difference.
Unlimited is largely a thing of the past on non-LLU services.
You could get something like 100GB cap on Zen or 360GB on IDNet, but you'll be paying a premium price for it.No free lunch, and no free laptop

I live six miles away from a large seaside town & we have our own small exchange.Currently the only ISP's in it are O2 or BT.When BBand was first released over in my town,BT said they had to get enough potential customers to validate installing the kit & in order to complete that quicker, the had to be a lot of potential customers generated.0

I live in a small village but we have our own exchange, I live about a 1 min walk from it so distance is not an excuse although thats the one the ISP's always throw at me, once I get them talked out of that it goes onto I must live in an old house with poor lines, well my house was built in 2007 so thats that one knocked on the head to.
Don't get me wrong, in the morning I can get almost 8mb, but its at night thats the issue.0 -

Use a decent ISP, it may cost a bit more, but your connection will be far better.0 -

Then your problem is not distance or line quality, it's contention. Use one of the better rated ISP's and things should improve. No free lunch, and no free laptop

It's Orange, one of the worst rated ISP's around-what did you expect?
Having already suffered AOL, BT and O2 Access, moving to Orange was hardly a step up.No free lunch, and no free laptop
