Hi Everyone,
A quick update. there has been nothing yet received to date from HFO, except loads of phone calls, which I'm ignoring. One question though, I sent a prove it letter recorded delivery on Monday this week, I've checked today and it still hasn't been signed for. The same for the CCA request sent on Tuesday. Do you think it's worth me sending a copy to their address in Highland house, London?
I originally sent it to the return P.O Box address printed on the letters they sent.
Welcome have signed for the SAR yesterday, so I know I'll have to wait for over a month to get that. I'm just a bit wary of them, I've read some horrific threads about the lengths these people go to get money out of people, and from what I have read, they do not wait around.
Thanks

Hi all,
HFO called my house today, the number was witheld. The woman asked for me. She started ranting about I need to open my husbands post and see what trouble he is in, as it is a legal matter and I reside at this address with him I have a duty to HFO to deal with them, and answer any questions they have and supply them with a mobile number. I put the phone down as soon as I realised who it was.
I've just had a look through my husbands credit report. HFO have done 2 searches within a 3 week period. It states on the credit report that you should know who is doing the searches. Does this mean that HFO cannot search peoples credit files without permission? Also if anyone can help me with my last post, I would be really grateful.
Thanks0 -
What they said on the phone is totally out of order.
Tell them that you are recording the call if they call again.
I've not normally had a problem with things being signed for when sent to PO Box's, but may well be worth checking with the royal mail enquiries.
Not sure I would duplicate the CCA request at the moment.
I would however, be tempted to send the reminder to them at both addresses when the 12 days is up.

Ok thanks Fermi, I will send a reminder in 12 days. Can you tell me if the 12 days counts as working days? also could you point me in the direction of where on this site I find template letters, I can't find where they are.
Thanks0 -
The letter is in the link in my previous post.
It is 12 + 2 (to allow for posting) working days after you posted the 1st letter.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Bottleofred
As you advised I checked the credit file and there is no debt recorded on there owing to welcome or any other DCA. Only 2 searches showing up from HFO end of feb and march.0 -
Ooh forgot to mention they finally signed for prove it letter yesterday.
Relieved!!0 -
Sounds like they don't send someone to pick up correspondence from the PO Box until the end of the week then.
Glad you've got that anyway.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Cheers Fermi.
I was getting worried they may take action quicker as they'd received nothing from my husband. I feel a bit better now. I was awake till 3.30 this morning, not on purpose I might add, reading numerous forums with other peoples problems with this shower. I was in tears as some of the posts where they've scared the life out people, any lengths I see they go to ignoring all laws, scandalous. I also noted that these people subscribe to these forums to get info! That spooked me.
Why are these people still trading? Surely they've done enough up to now? I can honestly say if it was a member of the general public acting in this way, I'm sure they'd have been in trouble by now.......it's so not fair in my opinion.0 -
Hi all,

Truecall will help to filter out with-held calls. Not sure how much it is these days, but it's a worthy investment if you have problem phone calls. The woman asked for me. She started ranting about I need to open my husbands post and see what trouble he is in, as it is a legal matter and I reside at this address with him I have a duty to HFO to deal with them, and answer any questions they have and supply them with a mobile number. You did the right thing by hanging up, though personally, I would've torn strips from the woman before hanging up.I've just had a look through my husbands credit report. They shouldn't be, but someone may be able to elaborate more on that.0
