Plug in the phone or open iTunes first, click on your phone in the left pane, click the photos tab, Click the checkbox next to "Sync photos from." Then click the drop-down menu to the right and select the folder that contains the photos you want to sync to your iPhone.
    Then click sync
It said on the box requires Windows 7 or better, so I bought a MAC

On my Iphone, when it's plugged into the computer it simply opens up as another hard drive.
I can move photos either way by dragging and dropping......even without itunes installed.

Doubt the phone will be able to open images it didn't take though.......but I've never tried that.

Yes you can use iTunes on any computer, Mac or PC.

There's recently been a new version of iOS released, so download iTunes on your PC and update the iOS on the phone. Just plug the phone into your computer once you've installed iTunes, it should open iTunes automatically and tell you to install the new version of iOS.

btw, if you have any problems with iTunes, it's not your fault. It's horrible - slow and unintuitive.

Without iTunes running, the PC will recognize the phone as a camera.
I have my iPhone set so that plugging in the iPhone doesn't automatically run iTunes, and instead one of the Windows auto-run diaplog boxes comes up, including the option to open it as a folder.
Doing that gives me a folder just like a camera memory (DC1M?) that files can be drag'n'dropped to & from.
If the dialog doesn't appear then double-click "My Computer" and it should be listed under portable devices.
  • Hi thanks for the replies, I am familiar with itunes and have loaded all my music, it's not that, it's getting pics from my pc (xp) to the iphone that is the issue, thanks :)

Just had a try at this.
I was partly correct.....but the phone won't accept images moving from the laptop to the phone.
It appears as "Dave's iphone" when I click "My Computer". When I browse the phone to the images it has taken I can move them to the laptop but none will go the other way.

I guess Apple didn't want to make it easy at all. Agree with previous poster - itunes is a poorly written program and not user friendly in the slightest.

Download an app called "Dropbox" - makes it super easy to transfer photos, files etc from pc to phone or vice versa :)
