Honeywell CM67 thermostat

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the Honeywell CM67 wired thermostat.
I took it off the wall to hang a little while plaster work was getting done and when removing it one of the wires came out (note, there are only two) I didn't notice which hole it came from but there are only two available, A or C, as B is taken up and still connected. Now, i left the wire out and the heating stayed on, although pretty hot and would not turn off without turning it off at the boiler.
Tonight i decided to have a look at it, i don't really want to blow anything or damage the boiler, i connected the lose wire up to C, connected it back up, put the battery pack back in and turned the heating off on the unit. The heating went off, ! turned it back on, heating still off and will not come back on.
I don't really want to connect the wire out of C into A just in case i mess anything up and its correct as it is and there is another problem.
However, i may remove the one from C to get the heating back on for now without the use of the thermostat.
Thanks
