Best/cheapest sim for light user

Hi, I've had a contract mobile for years but due to a change in circumstances I no longer can justify the monthly cost. So I need a "sim only" deal as I have a good unlocked nokia phone.
On average I use just 30-50 mins and 30-50 texts per month max and often less than that. I really only need an "emergency phone". The last time I looked at "sim only" it required you to use the sim so many times a month or, if you put say, for example, £10 credit on it had to be used withing 30 days or the remaining credit time was loss.
What I need advice on is the best cheapest sim deal where I can put £10 on my phone and if I use it very little the £10 could last for months without worrying about any time/usage restrictions.
I appreciate any advice/opinions or help......thanks:D

Thanks grumbler and I had a read through the link you posted. Looks to me as if Asda is the best deal for me @ 0.8p per min to landline/own network/other network and texts @ 0.4p. Just make a text or call every 3 months and all's well.“Having, first, gained all you can, and, secondly saved all you can, then give all you can"....John Wesley

Either Asda or Giffgaff. Both are 8p per minute calls & 4p texts. Not sure about Asda but Giffgaff only require to make or receive a call or text once every 3 months.Asda run on Vodafone network/giffgaff run on O2 network.Just find which has better signal in your area.

Got the asda card and very happy with its ease of set up etc. For light use this seems a good option“Having, first, gained all you can, and, secondly saved all you can, then give all you can"....John Wesley

However they are hiking their prices next month massively, to 10p per min call and 6p per text. (25% and 50% increase respectively). No free lunch, and no free laptop

Have existing customers actually received any notice of this?
From what I understood, 30 days notice was required. There is still nothing I can see on the Asda website, the only sources I can find are the thread on here and evangelical converts on the giffgaff forum (which doesn't count).
Any Asda users received a text or email about changes to 10p/min and 6p/text?0 -
Yes, I based it on the other thread here, nothing official yet.No free lunch, and no free laptop
