The provider I have (abroad) is incapable of supplying a constant & steady line speed for internet, one minute its fine - the "DU Speedmeter" is showing 2MBsec then within a minute or so it drops off to 250kbsec.....and it is infuriating to say the least when trying to watch streaming programs.......I'm no computer wizz but what it seems to me is that I need a kind of reservoir in the computer that will store the excess and hopefully tide me over
I've turned off all the other devices feeding off the wi-fi and applications on the lap-top and it doesn't seem to help. Has anyone got any suggestions of how to turn it to steady/constant flow?

Who is your ISP?
Can you post your router line statistics? That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Download speeds that vary like that are usually caused by high contention. In short you've got an ISP that has oversold the service. I guess it isn't only rip-off Britain.0

Sorry to have caused confusion, wasn't my intention.
I'm not very computer literate and when something only half works it can be more frustrating that not at all0
