Problem using gmail on a Nokia - help please!
Excuse my uselessness in advance please as I am not really phone literate!
I have a N86 which I use to receive emails on a gmail account.
For some reason ( probably my doing) when I receive an email it says "View HTML message" instead of just allowing me to read the message.
I'm not sure what I have done wrong - whether it is a Nokia setting or a gmail one.
Any help gratefully received.
Thanks

It's not a setting, it's just how Symbian is.0

Thanks Rusty, but my friend's set up does allow them to see the message - which is wierd.
I've settings on our phones but can't find the difference.0 -
Hmm, well it's how my N95 behaved as well. I guess you could try using Nokia's Mail for Exchange with GMail instead and see if that's better... at least you can get push mail as well (I think).0

It's no biggie - just annoying that my emails contain contact phone numbers.
When I open the "read message" I cannot hold the mouse over and dial automatically, I have to write the number down, wheras my friend can just click "call"0 -
Which email client are you using?0

The Nokia N86 seems to have a Gmail client available.
It doesn't fix your problem directly but might give you what you actually want.

I use the Gmail mobile app on another phone and I think it's great.0 -
Hi
Sorry if I've misunderstood, but I have Gmail setup on my 5800 xpress music, and it's working with no problems.
I think what may be the issue is the format in which the email is sent initially.
If it was sent as plain text, there shouldnt be a problem, but as far as I know, html mesages cant be read via nokia phones.
Good luck0 -
Thanks everyone, everyone seems to be saying the same thing so it must be me!0
