thanks but not sure that you understood my post, i want to change to get a better deal, ie new phone tarrif but if i have a poor credit rating will the new company not want to take me on, therefore should i just stay with vodafone0

Your 'better deal' is illusory. The networks know 85% of customers don't use up teir allotted bundle, and if the cost of this is factored out, customers will realise they're paying over the odds for a discounted phone. Buying s/h then using PAYG is the best thing someone with bad credit needs to do. A contract just opens another door to fry that credit and prolong the agony.0

Sorry, I thought that you were with t-mobile when I suggested to stay with them.
Anyway, you are unlikely to get any advice by asking the question this way. I am not an expert, but I think if a network rejects you, this decision depends mainly of your the credit scoring, not on the deal that your are after.
As a result, the question has to be what network is likely to be more tolerant to a person with a poor credit history, not about a 'better deal'. And 'better' than what?0 -
How can it be a starting point, when it is also the banana skin that drops you back into it? There are tales in these and other forums of lives being ruined, mostly because of no direct negligence on behalf of the consumer. Just bad luck, and on occasion incompetence by the network.
Play Russian Roulette by all means - but you don't give an alcoholic a drink to set him up for the day, equally, you don't buy into something that can cause historey to repeat. It is, after all, just a mobile phone. It's unimportant - you can go PAYG and still be connected.
It is an abomination that a firm can rat you out to a credit reference agency for some imagined problem, without having to prove it in a court of law. Before you had to have a CCJ before you had problems. Now, a £40 debt can end your hopes of a mortgage.
If you feel that's a reasonable risk to take - good for you.
I most certainly don't.
If you want to rebuild credit, use a credit card which is REGULATED, not a mobile network, which isn't.0 -
To be honest i think you better of staying with whatever network gives you the best signal. Av been with both t mobile and Voda and despite being screwed up by Voda a few times over the course of the year, there network seems more reliable in terms of coverage than most. And to be honest you have no reason not to try and get a contract with Tmobile if it goes through it does if not then just stick with Voda.0
