CP Plus & Travelodge

I'd like some advice with regards to a PCN I've received. I've got a PCN for parking in a Travelodge overnight, which says that parking is free if I'm staying - I even entered my registration number at the check in desk.
Now I've read a lot about people ignoring letters, is this the case here? I wasn't sure as I did everything I should have done and its their error, unless of course that's what they do and try and get you to pay up anyway?
Thanks for any advice!

Are they just chancing it then? Why would Travelodges use this company if that's the case?

Cos like [STRIKE]most[/STRIKE] some PPC they [STRIKE]are[/STRIKE] may be scum

Because the threat from these companies is often enough to frighten people which is why Travel Lodge will use them

Even if I legitimately stayed there? That sounds like they'd scare off customers if they got them after staying. I quite often stay in Travelodges I may have to reconsider after this.

Write to them and let them know why you will be staying elsewhere.

Do not contact CP plus - ever

Tell them that premier inn is a good place to stay, and you like the hotels better because you are not harassed by scammers!
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

Just updating this - I have since received 2 more letters from them, one saying that they've added another £30 on after 28 days. Now I have received a letter stating that its now £120 required within 7 days or it will be passed on to their legal department. Should I be worried?!

    Simple answer is NO !

I know, but what happens now? Do they have a legal department?

That's my biggest gripe about Travelodges. They have land for parking and the rooms are paid for so why do some charge and some not? I can understand contracting a PPC to deter unauthorised parking from outsiders and they'd still receive an income from the mugs who do pay, but why penalise their own customers?
