Just moved to Tesco from 3. I used to have a 'message received' alert to let me know that messages had been picked up but since i switched this is not happpening. Is there a way i can activate this on Tesco? Also when i key in the 'show balance' code - *#10# - it asks me to refer to self-care accoount for balance. Is this not available from the phone?

Message received alert? As in for voice mails? What sort of alert was it, the MWI? Anyways, you'll have to dial into the voice mail settings to change the notifications (if that's what you're talking about).

    As for your balance: http://www.tescomobile.ie/how/how_check_balance.aspx

    hi Rusty

when i was on Three, if i sent someone a message, i could then check in my 'delivery reports' folder to check that it had been recieved. now that i'm, with tesco, the delivery reports all show 'waiting' even when i know they've been received.

Oh that. O2 doesn't support them unfortunately :(

Best you can do is prefix your message with *0# and you'll get a text delivery report instead. Bit of a bodge, but better than nothing I guess.

Delivery reports don't work on O2 (Who Tesco use).

However, you can put *0# in front of the message for something similar...
I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂

Yeah they wouldn't, I accidentally linked you to the Irish site :rotfl:

You were right with *#10# so no idea why it's not working.
