There is a semi in the OP's road at about £15k cheaper, which might prove competition.

Just my opinion but the purple is very purple and whilst I'd have no bother spending the time painting it, it may put off others. Also the fire in the living room looks a little dated.0

Your house looks lovely, but the second I went into Street View I was put off - absolutely nothing that you can do about this, but the house that first comes up has a car randomly parked in the middle of their garden, and the one next door is overgrown. It gives an instant bad impression.Don't Panic - and carry a towel

I wouldnt worry over the purple, the house is well presented and if it puts anyone off buying they must be pretty flaky anyway. All this neutral isnt really necessary as long as the colours are stylish.0

Blimey, a first for me, but I'd not change anything. It's certainly not all to my taste, but there's nothing that would put me off if that's what I was looking for.
I agree, try changing agents. Nowt to lose. Negotiate on their commission. Make sure they use RM.
Can't really think of anything else to try. Yes, some positive suggestions above, but I honestly wouldn't bother. A new fireplace would be great, different colour walls in some rooms... but the chances of you replacing either with something a buyer would want would be a miracle and not worth the expense, IMO. If you put some modern oblong thing with a glowing coals 'effect' on the wall instead of the existing fireplace, I'd probably hate it, as would others. Some would love it. Horses for courses. It's all perfectly liveable and nice enough and quite possibly someone's complete taste so I'd leave well alone.
Good luck. Hope you sell soon! Keep us informed.

You gotta be kidding...... if the OP gets three weeks of rain, and two weeks of snow, are you REALLY suggesting that they replace the summery pictures with dreary overcast skies and slush on the drive....?!?!?!
How's that going to attract viewers and buyers....?
Er, mainly due to the fact it doesn't look like the house has been on the market for over eight months with no sale. Why create a shadow of a doubt in a prospective viewer's mind? Who cares if it has snow on the drive, at least it a. looks recently on the market thus subconciously creating an element of 'quick, let's see it before someone else does' in a potential buyer and b. they're not going to be let down when they decide to view.
I'd rather see pictures that were taken recently than those that give the impression something may be wrong with the house.
But hey, with three properties under my belt and a house on the market and sold within two months, what do I know!Foreign politicians often zing stereotypical tunes, mayday, mayday, Venezuela, neck

Few pointers...
Kitchen looks really nice! There's nothing more that can be done there. My only opinion in this room would be to remove the fabric blinds. Buyers like an unobstructed view when doing the washing up.
Living room, I'd change the light/fan you have. Hang a pendant. Will look more modern. Also remove the blinds. They are a little dated and I'm guessing any family moving in would remove them. You could always replace them with trendy nets (Ikea are great for this) or Venetian blinds. Cheap as chips and looks really modern.
The purple in the main bedroom works really well, however have you considered painting the two purple walls white? Would open up the room and give the impression of space and saves the buyer the job if they don't like it.
The blue bedroom I'd be tempted to paint also.
I know when viewing properties that artex really puts me off. It makes the place look dated, despite the rest of the decoration. If possible (and it's not too pricey) have a look at getting someone in to skim over it.
Also, have a word with your agents about using a wide angle lens. The bathroom I'm sure is much bigger than it looks, but the photos give the impression that it would barely fit two people. Also, have new photos taken every month. Those pictures look like they were taken in summer which makes me wonder 'what's wrong', even though there may be nothing wrong with the property itself.
Aside from that it's really, really lovely. Hope you manage to get a buyer soon!
I'd ignore that. I don't think ikea nets and no blinds in the kirchen would be better. At all.0 -
Sorry going to have to say it again. You've got what looks like quite quite expensive, custom made blinds and someone has suggested "ikea nets" as being condusive to a quick sale...:rotfl:0

I love it....even the purple bedroom!
OP - I can't see anything wrong with it at all. No clutter, nice and clean with little homely touches which gives it some personalisation and stops it being too sterile looking.
Down here, that money would get you a one bedroom starter home with the dimensions of a rabbit hutch. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

OP asked for critique, so people have given their opinions. If the OP wanted to hear how lovely her house was then I'd be the first to say it's really nice, but she wanted constructive feedback.
The target market would be a young couple, maybe with one or two young children. They want something they can move in to without any work needing to be done. They don't want to whip out paintbrushes and get the plasterers in. The whole aim of selling a house is to depersonalise. The colours should be neutral. The blinds look like something my grandmother has had since the 90s (no offence there!) and just don't fit in with the modern trendiness of the house.
Whether you decide to take the suggestions that have been mentioned OP, it's up to you. Like I said, you have a really lovely house, I hope you manage to sell soon.Foreign politicians often zing stereotypical tunes, mayday, mayday, Venezuela, neck
