does anyone have one of these cards? or have an opinion about them? I have done a search and it hasn`t brought up much. Info is a bit limited on MSE about it.....even the banks website doesn`t mention much (or anything?) about foreign use.

Is it actually a good card to have if you are lucky enough to have access to their branches?

I assume it`s not mentioned much because of that reason?

I`m going abroad in Europe and will probably be making a fair amount of ATM withdrawals (which I believe are free)......and can I use this card for Point Of Sale transactions? I`ve only read about ATM benefits hence....

And how are the FX rates with this account overall? reasonable? any info much appreciated :)

How long did it take for to get an account / card set up out of interest?

good to hear that it`s fine for Point Of Sale purchases. Can`t find any info whatsoever on that subject! Just read about the ATM benefits....

On the spot when you visit a branch.

It's a debit card - it can be used for any purpose for which a debit card is used. There's nothing special about it.

I had to go to a branch (i think you still have to) to get mine, took less than an hour to set up my account and they printed my Debit Card there and then. I've used it in Hotels, Petrol Stations, Restaurants, Shops and ATM's in many European countries without any problems.
All the transactions were carried out at the best exchange rate at the time used and no loading or administration charges of any kind were added.
Compared to a lot of other Debit Cards around, IMHO that's a bit special.
    Enjoy Europe Loco.

Is it still the case that you need to go in person to the branch as no mention of this on their website??

Also does the no charge for overseas use cover Asia or just Europe as Im planning to go traveling around Asia for 4-5 months and obviously the no debit card fees would save me a small fortune!

It's worldwide. If you don't want to apply in person you could apply for a Norwich and Peterborough Gold current account instead.
