Have I been spun a yarn?

My Pay usually goes in every Friday, today it hasn't, the clerk say the automated banking clearing system is down and the can't do anything.

    Ummmmmm. I don't know.

How on earth do you expect people on MSE to help you with this? What are you expecting us to say?

I thought it was obvious, is the BACS system down? Has anyone else been effected?

q1 - how would we know?

q2 - no I haven't been affected - mine has gone in today as expected.
  • You'd really need to ask YOUR bank this question, not us.

My bank has paid me as normal today, for your information.

Ok maybe didn't explain myself correct, 50 employees, all different banks, no one got paid, hence why I asked is there a problem with the BACS, but obviously not.

No it's not. It's your employer. They've obviously got an in house system which automates the requests to BACS sending out everyone's wages and it's their system that is down.

Take it up with your employer and don't take any crap. If they claim BACS is down say fine, do a CHAPS transfer.

Agree with izools, it'd take a lot for the BACS sustem to fail. You need to go back to employer, they probably haven't paid you.
  • BACS working all fine today :)
