Thanks I'll give them a ring tomorrow and tell them that I'm not willing to accept a replacement arm and am rejecting the suite under the SOGA. Wish me luck!

Just an afterthought, what about the footstool I got with it, there are no defects in that but I got it as it matched the suite, can I return that as well, as would look a bit stupid with a different suite?

yes reject the whole order on the invoice it was all made to match at the same time, unlike the replacement arm
• Better to reject the suite than allow them to fix, this goes on forever. Ours is still a mess and we have allowed them to do too much.

Put your reviews on the Mary Portas website. We are going to write to Watchdog also, we are just so disgusted with DFS and their lack of empathy when it comes to faults in their furniture. The staff are rude, their furniture lacks the quality promised when advertised, it is a bl00dy joke!

Search reviews for this company, you'll find hundreds if not thousands. Put your reviews where it counts, it helps other frustrated and stressed out customers.

The more current reviews there are, the more this company will be forced in to making a change.

Can also try escalating and/or complaining to Ian Filby, DFS Chief Executive, via sending an email to ifilby@dfs.co.uk or via sending an email to Keith Baker, DFS Ops Manager, at keith.baker@dfs.co.uk.

Worked wonders for me.

Good luck and hope this helps.

This is very helpful, hope others email the cheif executive too. I have also put my review on http://www.maryportas.com/secretshopper/dfs/

I hope this awful DFS company are on tv for their awful furniture and sales tactics as much as their stupid missleading sadverts.

Still trying to write to Watchdog but am unable to submit the details online, will write to them instead. All customers of DFS having problems with their furniture looking 10 years old after a week etc.. get them in the spotlight for what they are subjecting people to.

Have you tried sending your details via email to watchdog@bbc.co.uk and/or to Mark Thompson, BBC Director General, at mark.thompson@bbc.co.uk ?

DFS have already featured on watchdog... dfs bbc watchdog

They may want to do an update though.

A quick search on DFS just on this board currently shows 55 threads with DFS in the title.

DFS titled threads on Consumer's

And a total of 99 that mention them somewhere...

DFS have been on twice,Keith Baker represented DFS both times, the first time DFS sales went up.
The second time it cost DFS a lot of money, they took on a lot of service upholsterers to sort out the problem. The number of customers who have issues are quite small compared to the amount of furniture sold.
That said when a customer has a issue it should be delt with quickly and with respect to the customers expectations.
