administrator password??

I was burgled a few weeks ago and one of the things taken was my laptop.. the police caught him and recovered my lappy which I got back today..... now........ the little bastid who stole it has put a password on it.. is there anyway around that without formatting??? I need to see if my work is still on there...... 2 years of it......... someone help pllllllllllleaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaseeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!

If you mean a windows password, does safemode work .. F8 at boot?

there is a linux boot disk (from a floppy) which allows you to wipe and/or change admin or other user passwords, will try and find the link

Yep, boot up the laptop from a CD with Ophcrack. This'll crack Windows passwords in no time at all, I've used it often and it works fine.

you need to have a floppy disk drive in your laptop and access to another computer with a floppy

it will boot into safemode but still asks for the password

If none of the above work let us know, there are other methods to get in, or retrieve your work (if it is still on there).
