    No, it is not a faster payment, it is an internal transfer, so no e mail sent out.

    or 12 or 80

    Halifax sort codes always begin 11. If memory serves 12 is normally Flexible Current Accounts/ cross-plattfrom Bank of Scotland accounts and 80 is bog-standard Bank of Scotland. The OP clearly stated it was a Halifax account.
    Anything I post is my opinion, so from time to time I may be wrong. I try to provide answers based in fact, however I don't know everything, so (like all posters on MSE), take what I say with a pinch of salt.
