Transfer made from Halifax website how long?

Tonight i made a Transfer from my Halifax account to a friends account and on my account page its showing as a Transfer not a faster payment and wanted to know how long it will take to go into the other persons account?

I did it by clicking make a payment tab on my account and i though it would have gone as a faster payment not a transfer as i have done other payments from website and they have always gone as faster payments.

Your post is a little light on detail. Normally, when keying a transaction you get a message saying wether it will be sent as a faster payment or not? This shows just before sending. Does your friend have a Halifax account as well? If so, this would go as a transfer and not as a faster payment.

Not sure if he has a halifax account or not.

When i did it i cant remember how it was going to be sent all i can remember is after i made the payment it says payment had me made and the funds have been taken out of my Balance.

Just found out from the wife that he has a Halifax account. so a a transfer how long does it take to hit his account if he banks with halifax as well?

That's why then. The bank would just do an internal transfer rather than a Faster Payment or BACS.

Just one thing should i have got a e mail from halifax saying the payment has been made as when i have done faster payments before i have always got a e mail.
