NewCastle Accomodation

Options
I am staying in NewCastle on Business.

I am after a hotel, B&B, flat, or just a room through the week, for the next few months.

Anyone know where to look for the best deal?

Looking to be in the Gosforth general area.

    It's "Newcastle".

Depends on your budget, there are companies who do short term lease agreements for the likes of yourself, not sure of the names however.

Depending on your budget, you can get hotel rooms in the more affluent Gosforth and nearby Jesmond areas (mainly Jesmond)(£35-£50'ish pn).
Whitley Bay, on the North East coast is a lot cheaper area and rooms on a B&B basis can easily be had for £15'ish - easily to commute to the city centre etc. via Metro.

What about the Village Hotel. Just off the A19. 10mins to Gosforth by car and close to metro line. If you're there for a while it's ideal. Huge pool, gym, pub, restaurant, Starbucks, free wifi, beauty salon etc and 5 minute drive to Tynemouth beach and even less to huge retail park with cinema, M&S etc ( could walk to it)

theres 2 Premier Inns at the Airport, about 10-15 mins from Regent Centre on the Metro. Theres also a Britannia at the Airport, theres a cheap hotel at Kenton Bank Foot as well - believe its called the Metro Inn. Depends where in Gosforth you need to be as some places are easier to get to than others.

As would I, but consider that the OP is wanting to stay through the whole of the working week - so a minimum of 4 nights per week, for a period of several months. With Premier Inn charging around £60-70 per night, you are quickly looking at north of £1,000 for a months stay - a lot of money by anyones standards and you can do a lot better than that I'm sure!

I can't physically book before 29th April anyway- so gonna just have to travel on the 7th of May, but the good deals I can see so far with Travelodge (Newcastle Central), only can see as far ahead as bout the 1st of May. Now assuming, will get better deal come the 29th- but I did notice as much as a £10 differecnce between here and Gateshead. I did expect that, but trying to frantically do my research over last wee while, wanna be sure travel between Gateshead and Central Newcastle is pretty much straight through. I don't drive, but don't mind being over the bridge if the travel system is good. (only ever passed through Newcastle). Else someone mentioned it being cheaper in Jesmond? Again, I am not too bothered where I am staying,if it's a bit off the beaten track..so long as it's commutable. Can't wait to get there! Getting to grips with city geography is not my strong point, but familiarising myself with locations and streetnames etc. so any tips/ advice would be greatly appreciated.Thanks. :-)

Just seen some bad reveiews! Ahh never mind. gonna keep trying to uncover a good deal somewhere. Maybe will look outside the central vicinity..can't say am completely surprised. That's often what happens with such good deals in major cities.

Woohoo! First Post! In Jesmond there's a street called Osborne Road which is full of hotels & B&B's. There's a website - jesmond (dot) org (dot) uk - (sorry can't post links yet) which lists some of the hotels but not all of them. A quick google or Yell.com search should list them all.
The links between Gatehead and Newcastle, Jesmond & Gosforth are good - there's plenty of buses and there's also the Metro rail link with stops at Gateshead, Newcaste, South Gosforth & Jesmond.

In that case, a very warm welcome to the board! :-) Thanks for this. I did happen to googlemap Osborne Road and get a good idea of accommodation. Also have looked into bus links etc..it seems pretty good system between the major areas on both sides of bridge- which is good cos else I would spend majority of time getting lost! Don't suppose u happen to know about travel passes etc, or what single fares are? The metro sounds really conveinent, esp they yellow line..but I am sure when I get there I will end up using the bus system..get a bit claustrophobic! One of the things I didn't like about London..u kinda have no choice! ;-) Can't wait to visit the Metro Centre though! :-)
