I refer to these people I bought two winter coats for £15 each (just before vat increase)
Absolutely superb value, and you don't get the invoice for a month

I really think you need to understand what using 'credit' actually means. It is in no way comparable to buying goods using a debit card or paypal and for many people credit faclities are not available.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Why would it matter to me what it's called, I ordered the two coats, they were delivered on time I get to try them on to see if they fit and pay when I get the invoice £30 - I can't lose.
Compare that to 30 ish purchases on ebay of which 25 were genuine and 5 were a con trick.
I don't mean to bad mouth genuine sellers of which the vast majority are but the problem is for buyers there is no way to tell good from bad until it's too late.
I understand the sellers problem and I feel for the genuine ones, but I'm not prepared to keep parting with my money and just hope for the best0 -

because you are not getting credit terms in the way you described(as per a business)
you are using catalogues
if i limited my purchases to catalogues then i would add £000's to my yearly purchase costs0 -

who was the courier?
Update:
Paypal emailed me the following in response to me asking if there would be an issue with my asking Barclaycard to initiate a chargeback on the transaction:PayPal wrote:Please note that PayPal can only take actions for payments processed within the 45 day timeframe.
After this period we would assume that the buyer is happy with the item they have paid for.
If you wish to file for a claim I would suggest that you get in touch
with either your bank or card issuer for further assistance.
So, from the sounds of it, that should be my next course of action.0 -
You could still end up in the same situation as OP but with a debt rather than lost money, and then end up with the bailiffs round if you refuse to pay. How does using credit change that?
I don't understand iieee, I ordered, I received goods, I paid with cheque. Deal done. I'm happy, presumably they are happy, what can be better for either of us?
I know some of the nightmare situations that buyers can cause for honest sellers but sellers problems aren't my problem, I'm a buyer.0
