I think we if have products we should loose ad breaksI do not mind product placement, we have had sponsored programmer now for quite a while. On commercial stations, radio and oggle box for a number of years now. These breaks are defined in their nature.
What I object to is the New Totaleterinism used by the tax funded BBC that uses editorial bombardment in programs to push forward schemes and others, so called in the name of money extraction, charity, liberally across their output, without recourse0 -
I think so long as the brand is in keeping with the showI think a major issue for advertisers is that adverts are watched less often since the introduction of sky+ type devices where you can fast forward through adverts, surely this has made advertising worth less to the advertiser as less people actually watch them. Product placement is just a way of getting the income to channels back up to where it was when we had to sit through adverts.0

I think so long as the brand is in keeping with the showI'm not too bothered as long as it's not too in your face. It must be really hard to get right though as I'm sure a brand would freak out if they ended up being associated with an awful character!
Product placement in Bollywood films can be hilariously bad. I once saw one that had a sweet scene between a man and a woman. She asks if he wants a drink and a beautifully lit tray with two bottles of coke on it is brought out and there is arty close-up of the beads of condensation on it. They then drink it together (with lots of shots of the label). It's just hideous and ruins the scene.0 -
I think we if have products we should loose ad breaksThere will be no product placement on the BBC. Only commercial channels.
There is no one shop plugging for items on BBC.
Top Gear?
BBC Sport Personality of the Year, sponsored by a drinks company?
There is no overhype of telephone extortion lines in the name of charity?
On the commercial stations, both radio and TV the advert breaks are well defined, including the placement of the coffee cups.
On BBC, these are smeared into the programme without recourse.0 -
You forgot the who cares option0

Really doesn't bother me in the slightest. (Unless it's a beer product placement  )The man without a signature.0 -
North Face jackets get great product placement from the BBC news foreign reporters, all the reporters in Japan wear them and if you watch their reporters in other countries they invariably wear them0
