can I check to see how credit card data shows---I have credit cards that are always paid off in full each month, would these show as Barclays...credit limit £500, balance £0 or would the balance be the amount on my statment eg £250 regardless of being paid in full or not
If reported it would show the balance at the statement date. Also shown is the amount paid so in your example £250 would be the balance and £250 the payment amount.
Edit: As pointed out below by YorkshireBoy below. The credit report shows the balance of your previous statement and the payment made.0 -
Wouldn't it show the amount paid on the previous statement though? Bearing in mind the payment for the current statement wouldn't have been made yet.If reported it would show the balance at the statement date. Unless everything is a month behind?0 -
Indeed it does...YorkshireBoy wrote: »Wouldn't it show the amount paid on the previous statement though? Bearing in mind the payment for the current statement wouldn't have been made yet.

Yes it does show the amount paid and the balance at the previous statement date.
Here is a screen dump of an equifax report I got last September.
I was stoozing with this card a couple of years ago you can see the large balance and minmum repayments.
When the 0% finished I repaid the outstanding balance in full. You can see this is shown in the same month.
Since then I used the card once more and paid the balance in full. These repayments are also shown to be in the same month as the matching outstanding balance.

Feel safe about your data now? I also know of a child who was doing work experience in a hospital records dept who looked up some of her friends and their parents records.
Still feel so safe?
Balmk is still correct though....the data is not available for everyone to see.
The instances you mention were unauthorised and therefore against the law.

Where i work, checking personal credit records or "browsing" accounts without a valid business reason is a sackable offence ! Not worth it i feel, plus it's really boring ! We all know someone who has money worries, some are just worse than others !0
