Confused about blackberry and o2's offer (and if 500mb net enough)
I currently have a BB bold 900 on 3, which i pay £30.00 a month for, this includes 500 mins, unlimited texts and unlimited (but capped) net usage and BBM and BB push email services etc.
I am wanting to upgrade and my contract with 3 runs out on 23rd March, 3 will not budge on the price of their BB's even as a retention deal.
o2 are offering the BB bold 9780 for £25.53 a month, with 500 mins, unlim texts and unlim 02 to o2 calls, but only 500mb internet, they are also doing the exact same deal on the Torch (which is a fantastic deal)
But i cant make out if the BBM and BB add ons are included in this price the website states:
Great for email, messaging and browsing the web
BlackBerry tariffs also include unlimited messaging, email and Wi-Fi
Additional Bolt Ons are available once you've chosen your tariff
So i'm guessing that this means they are included, what do others think? Have tried to phone o2 customer services but cant get through as it asks for a mobile number which i dont have!
Also does anyone think that 500mb will be enough? As am a bit worried about the additional costs if i go over the allowance. Only really use net to check emails and for facebook!

The Blackberry tariffs include BBM and Push email. If you're just using email, facebook and general browsing 500MB will be fine, the only way you'd go over is if you started streaming a lot of media through youtube or similar. If you do go over there's no automatic charge for going over, you'll get a warning text message at 80% of your allowance then another text at 100% then you're connection speed is throttled unless you add a £5 bolt on.0 -
I've just had a look at the tariff and everything is included.
I have had Blackberrys for about 3 years and have never gone over my limit. With the Blackberry services you will get "push" email to your phone via the Blackberry Internet Service (BIS). If it is set up properly you don't even have to "log in" emails are sent directly to your phone.0 -
Thank you, didnt think of just putting in a random number to get through to customer services!
Glad to hear that you also think 500mb is enough, as debating between just sticking with 3 for the 1gb net allowance, but ive really had enough of 3!0 -
The Blackberry handsets are really good at compressing data, so 500mb on a Blackberry is like 2gb on any other phone. 500mb will be more than enough0

I use my BB every day of mail and facebook and read the news on BBC. I get through about 30mb a month at the most. If you need to download an apps etc just do it when your at home and connected to wifi and it won't come off your 500 mb.
The only thing thats not included in the £25 tariff on o2 is Picture messaging. its 20p a go. but you can sent pics by email for free.0 -

You don't want to get through to customer services, you're not a customer yet. You want the sales line given on the O2 website. Or hang around the shop section of their website and a live chat box will open.0 -

I emailed o2 asking them the question and they replied saying i needed to call customer services!
I also tried the live chat box thingy, but they just sent me in the direction of bolt ons, which wasnt what i wanted really either.
Am going to the o2 shop tomorrow (just to double check) so now just need to decide whether to go for the bold 9780 or the torch - orginally wanted the torch, but after having a play with one im not so sure, as fact its touch screen and qwerty keypad seems abit weird.
Thank you for all the replies :T0
