    how far is the pc from the router ??? If not far, pretty much any will do it. I quite happily used a £8 or £10 one for a couple of years (until one of my Mini-Guns kicked it and broke it :D) You really don't need to spend a fortune on one....

    I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple :D

    cheers Jack, router is in lounge, pc is upstairs in bedroom, seen a 300Mbps one on ebuyer for £12, so prob gonna order that. is there any preference between an internal card/ariel, and an external plug in usb?

    it really depends on how each perform when placed where they are going to operate from, no real way to guess, just try it and see.

    note - your router will only transmit data at rates of up to 54 mb/s or maybe 108 mb/s if it's G+, so a 300 mb/s adapter may be slightly overkill, just check it is backward-compatible to operate at the lower speeds...also, to best site it on the pc desk, you may need a usb extension lead (one end male, one end female) so you don't plug the adapter directly into the pc's usb port - safer and you can move it around a little bit for best reception :)
