OP, try to make your own decision. I could recommend all three but if it turns out that they're rubbish who would you blame?

I agree that the cheapest isn't necessarily best, and is rarely the best. Pay what you're happy and can afford to pay for the best you can afford.

Personally I wouldn't touch any of them with a bargepole.

    Filthy but funny.
The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.

I've been with Admiral two years.

Never claimed so only dealings with them are the odd change or renewal. After you've bought it customer service is done in foreign call centers, and they try and ring a lot (even if you opt out) to sell stuff like breakdown etc. They doubled my premium this year even though no major changes.

They've been cheap and had no major issues as yet - seen a few mentions about charging not for renewing etc (im hoping they dont me tomorrow). I wouldnt tell you to stay away (especially because they can be quite competitive on price) but if there was someone else the same price or closer then i'd happily change to somewhere else. I've dealt with more efficient/friendly/knowledgeable insurances companies other then admiral.

Watch out for the 10month accelerated no claims policy too, it shows it as massively cheaper and one years no claims after 10 months - although i reckon its a false economy and you'd be hard pressed to find any other insurer who would accept there 10 months which they say is equal to one year.
