I have ordered a Dyson DC 25 Animal from Utopia and was told to do a bank transfer which I did.
Since then I have read nothing but bad reports. Are these people genuine or not and what do I do about it if I hear nothing?

One of those times when you save £5 on purchase price, and spend massive ammounts of time and money trying to get your money back?
Even if it costs me £5 more than it costs you for a vacuum cleaner......I'll stick to companies with known trading records.0 -
I have never used Amazon before and stupidly believed everything was genuine. I should know better at my age and it's put me off this way of shopping.0

There's nothing wrong with shopping on line - IF you do a bit of checking before placing your order.
Find your item, and the best deal you can and before ordering - google the company.
Use something on the order of:
CompanyName
or
CompanyName complaint
CompanyName review
Every company, even those acknowledged as the best will have some complaints against them from individuals, while their reviews in consumer journals and so on would be better. So it will be a judgement call that you'll have to make.Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. If it was a purchase via Amazon, then they should deal with it, as they had the business arrangement with Utopia to sell through them.
They told you to buy it there.0 -
The OP says the company was Utopia.
I take it that they are selling via Amazon Marketplace?
Do Amazon make any distinctions in their T&C's between buying directly from them or using the marketplace?
You know, I read the whole darn thing only two weeks ago (ish) and I can't remember a single word! <sigh>Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there.
