Gladiator which is part of admiral do but the general admiral.com policy is for private cars only.
Which bit of this page http://www.admiral.com/otherProducts/van.php am I reading wrong?
  • Cheapest I found a couple of years ago when I had a Merc Sprinter (private use) was evan insurance.
On-line quote, if you like it, print your own cover note out .. policy and cert arrive a couple of days later. They do a multi cover as well, added a pick-up truck to the same policy for £68 !

Why do you imagine that someone on this thread thinks that they are insured with Admiral?

I think the point that he is trying to make is that Admiral distribute van insurance but don't underwrite it.

And what is the point I'm trying to make?
  • :mad:Hi, my husband and I have a samll fmaily car and have recently bought a Ford Transit for his carpentry work. We went online and got insured through a company called Dial Direct. They quoted me £341 apprx.
I contacted my current insurer to get proof of no claims as I have over 6 years NCD and becasue I had not yet received it ans sent to insurer they are putting up my premium to £900+!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I contacted them to say that I was waiting for it to come through and that I would send it on asap. Dial Direct contacted my insurer and said that because my insurance was current my No Claims would not stand agains the van and that we would have to start another no claims from scratch for the van only???????????????????????? Perhaps that was me being stupid - I thought that if you have an insured vehicle and have current no claims that that would stnad for something?
Anyway, I sais in that case what if I want to cancel and they sais that I would incur charges that would amount to me paying them another £166 on top of the annual premium I had already paid at £340?????

Can they rip us off like this???????? what can I do - if anything??????

    Please help anyone?????????
