Have you had experience of MBNA? Their phone calls do NOT stop and I am speaking from personal experience. I was made bankrupt last month, and I informed MBNA when they phoned me. In spite of my repeated requests for them NOT to contact me, as the Official Receiver will contact them, they are STILL calling.
I have, today, sent an email to MBNA, begging them to leave me alone:mad:
So the answer to the original question is - YES, MBNA ARE ALWAYS SUCH PAINS.
But they are NOT above the law.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

I sent a letter to the three Companies I was really annoyed with MBNA, Amex and HFC Bank telling them in no uncertain terms what I thought about them.
I got a response back from all three, full of sugary platitudes about how sorry they were to be a nuisance etc.
They still persist in doing it to anyone and everyone, though, it doesn't stop them!0 -
sorry i havent realy made my point well what i mean is they phone ,and phone, and phone, you report to ts oft etc wheres the proof?, they are carefull what they put in letters to you ,they say what they want over the phone you report them wheres your proof? ie they stay with in thelaw with regards that you have to prove what they have done or are doing like dca who ring and harrass you cant prove it makeing notes and times is pointless i had to put up with it for 4 years you just have to ride it through.0

I recorded my calls, and threatened with legal action against them , it still didn't work!0

But you CAN still insist that ALL correspondence is conducted by letter - they are intruding on your privacy by telephoning and it is up to YOU, not them, as to whether you speak to them.:beer:I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I sorted my debts out myself and i agree with you i only after initial telephone chat did it all by writing but i only told them ONCE i never kept sending letters etc eventually even the dca were plesant becouse after a year they were not getting any extra money other than what id agreed to send them so then sent the odd letter asking for increases i sent what i could afford 4 years later gone all done on my terms0

MBNA seem to base their company on harrassment and humilitating those in need. Out of all my creditors they try every threat possible - bring it on. Court wouldn't be a bad thing - I can't feel any worse than right this moment. It doesn't help to know that they harrass others - we should form a group of objection.0

This would be a good thing. On the credit card forum there is plenty of rant regarding MBNA's amazing low intrest deals. This is ok but people never know when life may change and leave them in debt. People need to know what they would have to deal with. I also think a poll on the worst creditor would be a good idea to find out who real gives their customers the worst treatment in time of need. MBNA prepare to be NAMED AND SHAMED!!!!
In the meantime there is nothing to stop people encouraging other people such as friends, family etc to avoid these bullys like the plauge, an impact on there turnover will make them listen0 -
Ahh the Vultures of MBNA,when i defaulted they started ringing me at work 3 or 4 times a day.I didnt take the call, and this went on for two weeks....had a word with mt director, and next call that came through,he demanded to speak to a manager...He then told them in no uncertain terms to remove my work number from their list, otherwise he would take legal action against them for affecting the business......No more calls.....still get about 3 letters a week from them, they go in the bin..
Have made my offer to them with CCCS and thats all they getting...0
