Vodaphone Broadband Top Up

I have a broadband dongle that I bought from Car phone warehouse, I notice that on Ebay I can get top sims cheaper, how does it work? do I just buy, replace it with the one I have at the moment then replace again when it runs out?

I have also noticed that the signal is only on 2 bars yet it says I am in a good area!

I would have thought the title of the tread would have been quite a big clue to the brand :D

OP, I assume your dongle's SIM card is one of the ones where credit only lasts for a month? I have one of the old ones where a £15 top up has no expiry date, because I only use the dongle occasionally it's saved me a lot of money. I believe these SIM cards can be found on auction sites and I don't know of any reason why it wouldn't work as a direct replacement for your existing card.

Cheap sim cards on ebay may not come with any credit on them so you would be back where you started, only worse off. Also, second hand sim cards might have expired anyway because if you don't use them within a certain time period (usually 180 days but that varies) they expire, well they do on Vodafone.
I have an old type Vodafone dongle that the credit doesn't expire on after 30 days and that's good if you don't use it much but they are almost impossible to find in the shops now - the code number is K3565 and they give you 1Gb with no expiry date.
I think you'll find that most of the networks charge £15 a month now on PAYG but before you change networks check the coverage carefully. Vodafone dongles work sucessfully on just one bar of signal strength and if you can't get 3G they will default to a 2G connection.
