Does anyone know if there's one that takes bedding? in Edinburgh? I've got some old pillows and blankets and when I went into the local place (think it was a cash4clothes) they said they don't take bedding anymore...0

I think there should be a general wariness for sending anything off hoping to be paid for it!
I have taken plenty of things to the charity shop just to clear space but my sister has used cash for clothes places quite a lot. OK, it may only be a few pounds at a time but it's pocket money for my niece and a good sense of satisfaction that you can have a clear out and get something back for it. :cool2:
I volunteer for a local dogs charity. People donate various things for us to sell at boot sales/ebay etc. I have a tonne of clothes to clear out but will take them to the warehouse myself and them donate the money.
There's always good and not so good in any field. Bit harsh to generalise! I think these places are a good thing.0 -
I took several bags of clothes that had been in the attic for ages - I got £20.40. Well pleased with that. My husband laughed at my happy face as I ran out waving the money! It was a Cash4Clothes place.0

There is a good company buying clothes. I used them a couple of times. You don't have to send anything and there is nothing dodgy. They come themselves and check what you have and they would pay on the spot and if you're not happy just not sell it to them. Simple as that. They also have shops all round nationwide and if you take it to those shops yourself, they would buy at a higher rate. I had an absolute pile of clothes and earned £63.50! Their no is 01708 685 076 their based in Essex near Lakeside, but I am sure they have drop off shops in Manchester Liverpool Peterborough etc... Definitely worth calling. Not sure what they do with the clothes but I am happy as long as it is of the landfill anyway :cool:0

I just had their leaflet pushed through my letterbox. I had not heard of them before so I entered their web address ecexport.com to learn more, and found this link to this forum.
Also up came a list of links about them including a case in the law court. It would appear that they have now cleaned up their act and do not claim to be collecting for a charity.
However, it is up to you and I to choose to use this service, and by the looks of the positive comments on here it seems that they are popular.
My leaflet today is from Cash4Clothes Tel. 01708 689 985. You get 50p per kg. I just hope that they do pay on the spot, like they claim to do. I don't have anything to sell just now.0 -
dont send anything in the post i did and never saw my clothes or cash again.:footie:0

i used cash4clothes to collect from me and got £46 for a pile of clothes, also taken it to a local branch since then and again no problems
they did check the stuff thoroughly at the shop but not when the jazzy looking van collected
i use it for stuff that wont sell but is wearable as what you get it peanuts but if you were going to throw charity shop it anyway its a way to make some easy cash
i think its hard on the charity shops but times are so hard you have to do what you can to stay above waterSave 12k in 2015 member 187. £62.50/60000
