She's going through insurance because a friend or family member has told her you might rip her off with over inflated costs...... I've been there and witnessed that conversation in the past.

She has probably discovered that you are Motor Dealer ...:D

Something similar happened to me in December 2009, the first day of the snow. I tried turning right into a junction, which was unfortunately on an incline. I slide sideways at about two miles per hour and bumped into a Fiat Punto. I slightly dented the trailing edge of the offside front door and the leading edge of the wing. I asked the owner to get a quote and I will consider paying for the damage myself. As she worked for the MET, I assumed she would be reasonable and wouldn't try pulling a fast one.

She emailed me, telling me that she got a quotation for two thousand pounds and attached the detailed quotation. It turned out her boyfriend was a salesman at a Fiat dealer. They had their own bodyshop and that is what they quoted. I showed the photographs and the detailed quote to the bodyshop I have been using for some years and they laughed. They said it wouldn't cost any more than seven hundred pounds. Bearing in mind he was an employee of the company (the bodyshop workshop controller used to work there), he should get staff discount of twenty per cent. I offered to get it done at my bodyshop, but thy declined. I ended up going through the insurance. I reported the quote to the insurance company. They contacted the bodyshop and it turned out they hadn't quoted anything at all. The boyfriend had just filled in the quote form himself and guessed. I understand that his employers were not best pleased.

This prompted the insurance company to launch a deeper investigation and it emerged that he was fronting his girlfriend's insurance. So, on top of everything, he was prosecuted for insurance fraud. As she was party to a criminal act, I doubt her emplpoyers would have been very happy either.

All for the sake of trying to rip me off, when it could have been settled quite easily and cheaply for everyone.
The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark

Simple! You should have notified you insurance company immediately, and given details. You broke the terms of your insurance.

None fault claims: No experience of driving accidents, but I've had my parked and unoccupied cars hit twice by other drivers, and it has not affected my insurance.
(And NO, they were both just normally parked in normal roads. One woman backing out of a drive, and one where some feller just drove into a line of parked cars, mine being the first obstacle.)
