  • Hi Kellm9,

I think you're right (and so was I) to contact N&P CC to deal with any queries. While Tom188 is right that the card is issued by HBOS I don't think they set all the terms and conditions. After all, I presume we'll have N&P CC statements and not Halifax. I think they would be your first port of call for any queries or problems you may have.

By the way, how long did it take you to get the N&P CC after you posted the agreement in? My HSBC CC 0% is running out next week and need to get the card and make the transfer asap. Thanks in advance.

Hi rock_and_roll_star, I applied online on the 25th October. Recieved my "your card is waiting to be despatched" on the 2nd November, sent the forms back straight away 3rd Nov. I had not received my card by 21st November so I called Halifax using the "say no number" they said my BT was been processed and my card would be with me in a couple of days blah blah blah. Called again on 23rd November and was given a card production backlog sob story and by the way your BT has not been processed and there is nothing we can do about it until you get your card. They confirmed my account had been opened on 9th November and as I said earlier finally my card turned up today 28th November.

So now I have to call up to do a BT, another 10 days to process. I can't do it online because i've not been registered for more than 10 days. I've got caught out here, currently paying interest on my Egg account - damn. I thought applying nearly a month in advance was plenty, normally it is.

    Cheers

I think you'll find that they do. After all, it's they who are underwriting the card, and therefore any debt you put on it.

If you take a look at the various Halifax run cards' T&C's you'll see that they're more-or-less exactly the same. They only differ in the fees department, and 0% duration of course. Some of these affiliate cards may well have remained BT fee-free were it not for websites like this and stoozing.com highlighting their 'flaws'. Just look how fast the charity cards were closed down once Martin mentioned them in his weekly e-mail earlier this year.
After all, I presume we'll have N&P CC statements and not Halifax.
Correct, but the N&P statements are identical in layout to the old IF.com statements (I have the 2 side by side in front of me) - as you'd expect, having been produced by the same system.
I think they would be your first port of call for any queries or problems you may have.
Really? Would you ring Marriot Hotels to complain? Would you ring Cancer Relief or Guide Dogs for the Blind? I think the only thing they'll do is pass on your concerns to HBoS - and then only if you make a formal complaint (and I don't mean a 'general' grumble by e-mail).

You should be able to action the BT before you receive the card - I did last month.
  • Thanks for the responses. N&P aren't the quickest. No matter, its one of those things I guess.

Just like to address some of the points made by YorkshireBoy:

T&Cs are similar but that does not mean they're the same. Indeed, as you yourself state they 'only differ in the fees department, and the 0% duration'. However, these are two of the most important T&Cs (especially someone with debts or a stoozer), and I would add the CC interest rate to that list as well.

Opppss. I was thinking more of organisations such as N&P, Sainsburys, Tesco, Virgin etc rather than affiliate cards but I take your point. In those cases you would obviously have to contact HBOS.

Great, I didn't know you could do that. I've always waited for the CC before making the transfer. Thanks again for your help.

Well, finally my balance transfer has gone through. :j

As previously stated I had contacted N&P customer services. They have dealt with the matter and I have had no contact with the Halifax at all. I received regular email contact from N&P explaining exactly what they were doing.

In summary N&P have sorted out the delay in receiving my card, BT not going through during my web application and the query about BT fee.

So I've now got 6 month 0% starting from the date I activated my card and not from the date that the account was opened, this saved me over a month at 0%. Also a confirmation email that no fee will be charged. Of course an apology for the inconvenience it has caused me. :D

I'm happy and must say that N&P customer services were really helpful.

Thanks for all the comments on this thread.
  • Hi Kellm9,

Pleased you received the card, finally. I received mine last week and my BT went through on Friday. Also double checked the fee over the phone, still no BT fee with this card at the moment.

I found N&P customer services fairly good too, they're prompt replying to queries.

The only problem, I suspect, will be finding the next 0% card in 6 months time.......
