N&P 3% Balance transfer fee

Thanks Phoenix, Thanks King of Fools,
I try and use the ol' charm when I'm transferring the balance! You never know, they might waive the fee. I can but try.0 -
I have done my balance transfer from my hsbc card over to n and P beginning november and wasn't charged any transfer fee, but I have also requested to transfer some other money onto it, which hasn't gone through as yet, I wander whether I will be charged for this?0

Greengrass,
I'm guessing, but I don't think you would incur a fee. From what I've read in this thread (and elsewhere) N & P must have brought in revised terms and conditions which allow them to charge a balance transfer fee (section 4.2). I think you might well be under their 'old' terms and conditions. N & P (I think) would have to write to you to inform you of a change in the terms and conditions of the card. Hope that helps.0 -
I finally received my card today (account opened 18 Oct!!) and did a 90% BT. The CSA checked her screen and confirmed that no BT fee applied.
Every time I have chased HBoS over the last month I have received a different version of the truth so I suspect much of the above is down to general incompetence and pi$$ poor training of the CSAs.
I speak from experience, working for a bank. Our intranet product details will say one thing yet from posts on here, CSAs are clearly giving out a different, incorrect version.Ethical moneysaver0 -

Hi realaledrinker,
Can you confirm if you had the 4.2 section in your copy of the credit agreement.
cheers

Hi Kellm,
Just thought I'd let you know that I had section 4.2 in my credit agreement, which I posted back to N&P last week - still no sign of the card. I e-mailed N&P yesterday to clarify the position of a fee on the card and they responded with the following e-mail:
Dear Mr xxxxx,
Thank you for your recent email to Norwich and Peterborough Building
Society.
I am pleased to confirm that there is no fee to transfer an existing
balance over to the Norwich and Peterborough Credit Card.
If we can be of any further assistance please do not hesitate to contact
us on 0845 300 2511* where an advisor will be happy to assist you. If
you need to check the progress of your credit card application please
call our credit card team at Halifax Bank of Scotland on 0800 085 5863.
Kind Regards
xxxxxx

So, looks like no fee - for the time being at least.0 -
Letter from N&P yesterday, apologies but due to demand cards have been delayed up to 3 weeks. Sent back completed form 11th November, got pin
18th, BT's to pay off cards 22nd?
Wonder when 0% starts in this mess?

Thanks rock_and_roll_star,
Unbelievably my card arrived today. What a shambles the whole thing has been. Firstly my BT did not go through on the online application. I called customer services three times to chase it along. Strange they had all the details of the BT but they said it had not been processed
. They said until the card was issued the account was locked, as per their normal procedure. I couldn't manually BT, I couldn't cancel the card, I couldn't close the account etc etc.
Anyway, today I emailed N&P to confirm the no fee to do a BT. I also asked about the 6 months 0%, stating that I could only get a maximum of 5 months because of the delays etc. I didn't think this was right and what could they do about it. We'll see, they will probably do nothing but it costs nothing to ask.
Cheers

Remember cards are run by halifax bank of scotland on NPBS behalf. The society therefore will probably have no say in the day to day administration of accounts.0 -

Hi Tom188,
Yes, I realise that halifax run the card for N&P. I decided to contact N&P because rock_and_roll_star had done so (see post 17) and thought they must have some say in how the card runs. It was also to make them aware of the mess that applicants are currently having to go through. I also thought no point in contacting Halifax as they can't even get the same story between different customer service reps.
Cheers
