Was planning for an NSD today but unfortunately my little banger was at the bottom of the red so £20.00 in there for half a tank... pretty pleased with how far it went!

Is anyone giving up anything for Lent? I'm not religious really but a few people at work are giving things up, and I'm gonna give up alcohol, (even though it's my b'day in that time!) junk food and unnecessary spending!

    Today I will:-
    • Send New Look purchases back
    • Return items to Boots
    • Return top to shop
    • Find my Music Magpie cheque as I've lost it :(
    • Send emails to Yahoo Bingo & ChitChat Bingo for money to be released to correct bank account!
    • Lunch from home
    • Free tea/water at work
    • Try and work hard even though I'm feeling really tired
    Happy Moneysaving!!

DNMS - At least this way you have some kind of guarantee on the cooker to last a few years, shame your car wiped out your savings else you wouldn't need to borrow!

I'm not, but I've heard of friends/colleagues giving up unnecessary spending, chocolate, & alcohol so far! I don't think I have the willpower to do any of those since it's my birthday at the end of the month :o

Caught up on yesterday's thread now :) to La Escocesa:-

Perni - think I'm glad the online studio was free :( I went on to look for the video last night and it seems that when they add new ones old ones drop off. Boo. I've emailed them to ask if the weightloss one is available but I reckon it's not anymore. You'd think with it being online they could make available the whole back catalog.

These wasgijs are doing my nut in btw - it's a jigsaw that you need eyes in the back of your head for!
http://www.wasgij.co.uk/ So the image on the box is actually the opposite way round... I'm not explaining this very well. Hope the website does a better job ;)

Oh no! That is a shame they replace them rather then simply adding, I started off with destressing/relaxation videos & if I was paying for it I'd definitely want to be able to refer back to them all. Are you sure they're not available if we were paying members?

Ohh I've never seen those before, an extra challenge though! Once you get there you'll be so proud of yourself, don't give up!

a lot of us at church are giving up alcohol but DH and I hardly drink so we don't see this as a challenge so i'm also giving up biscuits (that'll be hard) and DH is giving up fizzy pop. my mum did think about telling her boss she was giving up work for lent :rotfl:but that may be wishful thinking

    today i will

    not eat biscuits!!!!!!!!
    [STRIKE]check banks[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]go to coffee morning at church[/STRIKE]
    pick up prescription
    sweep back garden
    tea from stores
    ironing
not think about work on my day off!
research parking at gatwick airport for holiday
not buy any new clothes for said holiday
[STRIKE]see mam at church so i don't have to ring her to speak to her[/STRIKE]

that'll do me for now. happy wednesday everyone

    Good morning people:beer:
Well, no work for me but no college either - have my hospital appt this afternoon, so should get scan results and see if the nasty Crohn's has sneaked back:o Fingers crossed not.

Hi Pixie. Havent even finished the rest of the thread but thought I'd wish you good luck. I've got Crohns too and it sucks. Hope it all comes back nice and clear. Was it a scan with the 'milkshake'?

    Morning all!

Pixie - hope the Crohn's hasn't reared its head, and that the scan brings good news

DNMS - hope the cooker gets sorted for you!

Here's my list for the day:
    • checked online banking
    • checked for/done a couple of surveys (one kept sticking, so abandoned it finally)
    • laundry on line outside (yay!)
    • heating off
    • lunch on leftover lasagne - can't wait!
    • dinner from stores/menu - v. quick pasta with veggies
    • OH and I are out tonight, but it's a birthday present, so should be (almost) free
    • clean the house a bit before OH's parents come over tonight!

I'm not giving up anything for Lent this year. I'm not religious, but I usually give up something, because I think the discipline is good. But I've given up/cut down on so many things this year already, I feel like it's just being incorporated in the overall lifestyle change. Maybe next year, when I'm more used to this, I'll do it :)

Hope everyone has a good day :D
