When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:T

Morning everyone  looks like I pipped u to the post pixie :p hope ur ok & the results for your scan is good news today x

feeling a little bummed as the cooker wasn't any good so back to the drawing boar. we have decided to buy a new one, oh's parents are going to give us some money towards it too... hopefully might have one tomorrow :T

ok today:
  • check banking
  • check for surveys
  • make sandwich for lunch
  • pay in some cash to the bank while I'm at an office near the high st
  • go for a run
  • order the cooker, pay by cashback card
somehow get some exctement into my system!!!! Off to get ready now.. have a lovely day x

  • Morning! Its Wednesday, woo hoo. Not only mid way through the working week but I have Friday off. Thank goodness cause this week is rubbish!

    Today I shall:-
    1. Check banking
    2. Check eBay for what's selling
    3. Pack lunch
    4. NSD (didn't manage that yesterday, got invited for coffee and had a major meltdown and visited two supermarkets! Not good. Pancake day, a day about clearning your cupboards, turned into an expensive day! )
    5. Go for a run
    6. Drink lots of water
    7. Enter 10 comps (I know compers, not a lot, but I need to get back into it so I figure if I set myself a figure I will get on with it)
    8. Sadly, go to work!

Have a great day everyone. I'm sorry the sun has gone in again but at least we saw it yesterday and it's near!
If you knew it then you know it!

    • take book to hosp - no mag buying
    • strip chicken carcass and freeze meat

    Well hello there

I'm hoping to get out a bit earlier for work today. Got a bit of voluntary work I need to do so hoping to get it done before I start getting dragged off on other things. Really only need to write a couple of letters but they're not v nice and I'm not spreading v nice news so that makes it all the harder. :( (I help folk with pensions problemas and I'm usually explaining stuff that's not been explained well before to tell them why they're not entitled to certain benefits etc. Not nice.)

    Small things:
    • Read library book
    • Complain to Mr Ts - shopping didn't arrive and they never even got in touch to tell us! Second time it's happened when we've booked the 9pm-11pm slot, and the same excuse that the van broke down.
    • Porridge brekkie - just finished the last of it and alas, no more arrived last night. Boo
    • Soup for lunch; take bread from home
    • Sort living room unit perhaps... Need to make some progress towards putting the house on the market...
    • Check onepoll
    • Check banking
    • Check cc to see if it's at 0 now :T - remember that's why banking is so
    • Catch up with some programmes for free on iplayer/4od

I was just thinking the same thing :o I need to be in smart business dress today (they say, as though clients will notice/care) so I'm hoping a bit of 'power dressing' and my fave make up (benefit play stick, touche eclat and a YSL eyeshadow palette) shall do the trick :rotfl:
