Thanks guys for your massive support. No mortgage but a bunch of savings. Sadly, going to be honest. I am diagnosed with some form of mental illness. Just what you want at my age. Very debilitating. Stil not sure what it is. Seems like sleeping sickness, lol. Can stay in bed all day. Feel safe. It is very worrying.
Not sure why I posted that link. Think I am afraid of the fragility of what is going on in the world. Played very much on my thoughts. Time was, years ago, you kept your head down, worked hard, and benefitted. Stopped watching TV, too much rubbish and advertising. However we have TV because my darling wife who works all under the sun, caring for the sick and disabled, likes to waych it.
Anyway, thanks for the support.
It is good to hear from you though mate.:)
You know what I do. If you wish to trade a pm, I'm happy to help.
The best support you can get though, would be face to face stuff.
You know where I am if needed!:)It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
Thankyou all so very much. That support means a lot to me. As was remarked, I have been missing from the boards for a long time. This illness started in April last year. I do suffer from depression from time to time, but this coupled with a lot of anxiety and servere OCD symptoms.
Been fortunate to work from home and as trade is slow I just about coped. Trouble is now, the company is going on a re launch and wanting me to drive 100`s of miles a week. I am self employed. So that is another spanner in the works.
As to treatment, yes sticking strongly to it. I also have face to face lined up. Also forcing myself to take exercise.
Once again, you are very kind.0 -
pobby try and get some cognitive behaviour therapy......absolutely priceless.... good luck m8It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0 -

Thank you for being so brave and letting us know a little of what is happening to you. It means we can do what little we can to support you, which is what we want to do, because we like you.
Lots of people have already said lots of helpful things, so I shall just add one more. Mental illness usually brings with it a temptation to isolate yourself. Try not to. Face to face friends are invaluable, but sometimes cyberfriends are all you can manage, or else you need people when it's 3am and the face to face friends are all asleep. So a mixture of RL and cyberfriends is best. Please do come on over to the nice people thread, and then keep coming back to it. It's helped me through some very tough times, and TBH is helping me through another blip right now.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Just popping in to offer my sympathies and any support I can offer and echo other comments.
I do hope that talking about it openly, as you have done, goes someway towards helping the situation.0 -
Well ty all again. I didn`t know I had so many great pals. Obviously my wife knows, a few friends and family. Going to pop over to the nice people thread. You are blooming great. Bless you for your concern.0

Pobby - just wishing you well. I know you have been very helpful with people on here in the past.
I am sure you have had equally tough times in the past and come through them.
Good luck.0 -
At my age it is unlikely I will find a job when well.
That's not the end of the world. If you can't find a job, you can always make your own:D The biggest thing is to get your mental health sorted out.
Have you gone to the doctor?
Has the doctor offered any treatment?“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”
