Oooh dear, well I've been handing over my rail card before 10am quite often and getting the discount!0

Just depends on the conductor, Some like to be powermad and awkward, Some let you off.
I use my train tickets on different routes to go to same place most conductors let you and some try to get u to buy a new ticket.0 -
Pcombo, where did you start your journey you mentioned in the original post?0

I have always used my railcard on a 3 min journey from Sheffield Station to Meadowhall with no problems (costs about £1.60 return i think?) But I always buy my ticket at the station as I always thought you couldn't use your railcard when purchasing on the train?0

Loose the attitude and it will put you in great stead later on in life.
What 'attitude' did he have exactly?
I'm fairly sure there isn't a cap for off peak journeys but you do need to buy the ticket in the station beforehand. I can also confirm that using it during peak hours will apply a minimum fair of £12.0 -

Did you read the OPs post?
The conductor wouldn't let him buy the ticket discounted. Arent' conductors usually on the train journey and therefore not bought beforehand?0 -
You can use the railcard discount and buy a ticket on the train ONLY if the station you board at does not have ticket selling facilities. So we all know it all depends on where the journey was started.:kisses2: Got married September 2011:smileyhea

Gavin83,
I took "I then said to the conductor if you dont accept my card i am not buying any ticket." as being 'attitude'One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0 -

I agree.
There is a time and a place for making a fuss about whether you feel he should have offered the discount: sticking to the 'brick wall' status when you could well be in the wrong isn't it.Unless specifically stated all posts by me are my own considered opinion.
If you don't like my opinion feel free to respond with your own.0
