Contract ended in October, fine, I had an easymobile sim and credit (thanks to this site) so started to use that, until we all heard the news last week

Thinking of going back onto a contract BUT the only card I hold is a Visa Electron and nowhere seems to accept this to set up a contract.

Has anyone here set a contract up using an electron card or does anyone know where I can get a contract using one?

Ta muchly if you can advise :D

doesnt necessarily have to be a card, most places accept 2 forms of i.d, a signature and address proof.
    signature could be: credit/debit card
    passport (in date)
    driving license

address proof could be: driving license
utility bill (normally dated within 3 months)
bank statement ( normally dated within 3 months)

just take bank details to set up payment via direct debit (sort code/account number)
    hope this helps

if you apply online:eek: you don't need id as they just do a credit check on you. as piper says if you want to buy from a shop you need either credit card, passport or license for signature proofs.
if you want me to reccomend any tarrifs for you or need any more info just pm me shell

Why not ask you bank for a proper card? Tell them that certain stores etc. won't accept it for payment.

I'm lucky to even have an electron card, I wouldn't get any other type.

I do have a passport ell and I've tried all networks :(

Oh well, just have to stay on PAYG for now.

ok for a contract from a shop you need two forms of id. passport (in date) is fine for signature then you need a proof of address such as a utility bill or bank statement. the only problem with visa electon is no network will accept it as a proof but i have set up contracts for people who only have via electron cards using other proofs. It's possible you failed the credit chek or did you not get that far?

Didn't even get as far as a credit check.

I'll just have to creep around my Dad and see if he will get me a contract and I can just pay him every month instead ;):D

I'm putting a tenner on the phone a week you see so I'm better off with a contract - hardly use the house phone either except of an evening when it's free so it's not like I'd be wasting money going back onto a contract :)

what do you do more of calling or texting? you can always have the contract in his name but pay the dd out of your account. i'm confused as to why you can't do the credit check though. i don't need a customers card details to do a credit check just sort code and account no for dd:confused: unless it's t-mobile that is. am off to check the orange site now

i just went on the orange website and it didn't ask for my card details just sort code and account number so i can only see there being a problem if you pick a phone you have to pay for? if you pick a phone thats free it should be fine
