18185 app for Android

Hi,

I would like to use the 18185 service from my mobile phone. The issue is that the prefix does not work on mobiles phones, so you have to call a gateway number first, wait for the prompt and then dial the number to call.

Is there an app on Android that can basically allow some contact phone numbers to be selected and dialled, once the phone is connected to the gateway number, rather than having to dial the number manually?

Thanks,
Seb

I am old-fashioned and just program the second number to some contacts that includes the 020 number and 3 'P's in the middle.

Thanks. I was wondering if someone had developed an app that would allow, once already in a call, to dial another number from the address book.

Do you know if you just need to add "p" in the phone number on Android for some pauses?

You can just use the existing app/widget "call".
Also if you google for 'prefix dialer android' you may find something you want.

Yep. The more 'P's, the longer the pause.
  • There is an android app I use for this. Basically you can set it to detect overseas numbers (or some others like 0800 etc. if you like) and use the 18185 access number to dial it. It's not specifically for 18185 but it let's you use regular expression to specify the action the phone takes for any incoming/outgoing calls.

I can also send you the settings for the app for the 18185 if you are not good with regular expressions. Contact me if you'd like me to send you these. The app is called "Prefixer" and it's free. You can find it in the android market.
