not feeling the love

Ive been a lurker on here for a good year and last week i plucked up the courage and posted my first thread was all rather exciting and i had some lovely replies
have since posted a few more times and have recieved a few comments that i felt are a bit harsh and have left me feeling a bit stupid:(
maybe its me being naive but some things i just dont know thats why i ask on here and other boards there are some super people on here that have really helped but feel some people should be maybe a wee bit nicer to newbies
im sorry to post this but im gonna stick up for us newbies we're just starting out on our debt free journey:o
Finally had the "lightbulb moment" now facing up to debts :o
If you aint got nothing nice to say then dont say anything at all
Looking forward to a fresh new year, Happy 2012!!:hello:

Its hard when that first happens, but try and ignore negative comments. The majority of posters on here are fine. :D

Depends if just nasty or some firm loving.
Sometimes the only way to get anywhere is to get a bit of a really check and a kick up the rear.
Dont take it to heart just use it as motivation to better yourself.
  • Thanks sublime and bigcraigjohn, its not so much nasty comments that get me its the ones that make you feel really stupid, the kind of "why did you do that, do it properly" comments that get me maybe im too soft :o

I had that once when I started a thread about something personal to me. People were putting two and two together and coming up with five. I felt obliged to explain my personal situation, which I did, but I was really upset, as I'd never done so before, and angry, as I thought "How dare they!" All their misconceptions were so wrong.

Must have rhino skin, as I'm still here. :D:cool:
  • think im going to grow thicker skin from now on, its bad when people jump to conclusions without even knowing well done for staying on the forum i would of run away and not come back! thanks sublime :)

Thanks for htis. I have felt like this too, and tended to fixate on the negative comments nad over explain myself.

I also get offeneded when I don't get replies.

    Good luck

It is quite harsh when people come over all "holier then thou" I've been there myself and been on the receiving end, its not nice, and on more then one occasion sat at the screen crying and not really sure why i'd let it get to me, and like others then find i'm trying to justify myself.

I'm not having a particularly great day.

^^ Hope your day gets better. I just don't seem to be able ot chip away at any of my work today, sign of stress if I remember rightly.
    Take care
