OS solutions to rising fuel prices

Diesel used to be much cheaper than petrol, so more people bought diesel cars, so the price rose in line with that. So I don't think that in the long run lpg will work out cheaper. Or am I being cynical
If you always think like that, as many do, you will never know. I on the other hand changed to LPG in 1999/2000 and it started out with 5 years at 1/3rd the price of petrol (mostly because I got a trade discount) then it changed to 1/2 the price of petrol, and has stayed at 1/2 the price ever since.
You should check to see how much your LPG will cost you, that's an important factor....

The premium on the car I expect will be about £500
So a "ball park" calculation How many weeks would it take you to spend £500 on petrol? Double it. That's how long it would take you to make your money back, after that, it's all profit.
But there are other things to consider, costs/losses in swapping cars. And not bothering with LPG and buying instead a super economical car. Converting a super economical car to LPG is an interesting idea!0 -
