Good luck to the workers. I hope they get what they are after - even though the dates will potentially disrupt my own plans.

Has anyone any idea of insurance companies that may pay out should the strikes in Spanish airports be extended? I am going to Lanzarote on 19th April and flying back 26th April, both days there are no planned strike action. Rang a few companies and they say that should the strikes be extended they will not help out as I am aware of the strikes now.
Any help or advice is much appreciated.0 -
jack1004,
if you had insurance cover in place before the announcement then you should be fine. if, however, (and i think this is the case here) because they are now 'known about', if you haven't got insurance already in place, any new insurance company will probably not cover, as it is no longer an 'unforseen event'.

Please can you help me?? I have so far only booked me and my family's flight through Ryan Air traveling 22nd April returning 29th April, luckily we haven't booked the hotel yet but I was wondering does anyone know if the strike is on during my stay? I have heard if it goes ahead Ryan Air will cancel all flights to Spain??? Will I get my full refund? Sorry for all the questions!
Thanks in advance:j2012 wins

Well i have read that they are striking on 20th, 21st, 24th, 25th and 30th of April. You may be like me lucky enough at this stage that there are no strikes on days you are flying, but i am concerned that there will be a back log of people whose flights that have been cancelled and that i may not make my flight home, should it still go ahead.0

So the liklihood of finding a company that will insure me now is very very slim? Do you think i should go ahead and book insurance now anyway should my flight go ahead? I booked my flights and accommodation seperate, will this be affected when i get travel insurance?0 -
my parents have got holidays to Menorca in June and Tenerife in September.
i know they wont be going to or landing in Spain, but those islands are Spanish.
so will thier holidays be affected?0 -

Ask your provider. As dishonest as we all are, we're not your insurer.0 -
RTVE website - AENA and unions, on the verge of a preliminary agreement on privatization.
AENA presented a new document to the unions yesterday. Although the strikes have not yet been called off, the representative of the union USO has said that if they had had previously, the AENA document thats now on the table, there would have been no need to call the strikes.
So its looking more hopeful.0
