Car Accident

Hi,
Advice needed please.
I have been in a car accident today at a roundabout and the women went into the back of me. I was really shaken up at the accident as I experienced a really bad accident when I was younger and injured my back, unfortunately this was in the same place
.
I didn't know what information to take off her, but she gave me her name and registration number. Only my number plate is damaged on my car (i don't know about underneath), but hers was worse.
Is their any point with going through this claim? And if i do will it affect my insurance next year?
Many Thanks

You should tell your insurers who will arrange to get your car inspected. It could have more damage than it looks like it has once they look properly.
Any repair costs should be paid by the other person's insurers as would any injury claim you make. Your insurance might go up a bit unfortunately.0 -
You need to get the car checked out as there could be damage you can't see.
If you get any pain get yourelf checked out ASAP. I'm not talking about compensation here (jsut in case anyone wants to complain) but I mean getting medical advice about whether you should move/not move.
I had whiplash in my neck once and was given valuable individual advice about keeping moving to prevent the formation of scar tissue.
Early advice could prevent further issues down the line.
As she went into the back of you then her insurers should pay, but a claim may still affect your future premiums.
But the priority is to make sure you are ok and secondly get the car checked out.0 -
Well I've got a back problem from my last accident and I'm in pain now, but I'm not sure if its because I am tense? Expecting Pain? Or from the accident today?
To be honest, I'd feel abit silly if I went to the doctors now, feel like i'd be wasting their time

Any doctor worth their salt would be delighted for you if you were!0 -
Hi. You asked if claiming will affect your insurance.
In my experience and others, if you notify your insurance of a accident your insurance will go up next year.
If you want or need a hire car, I would goto a local garage and ask if the damage is bad enough to get a hire car.
If your injuries were agrivateed then you would need to notify your insurance so that a log is made, and also they will beable to assist, or you can alternativly goto a no win no fee solicitor, if you need any directions I can assist you in a PM.
Finaly did you take photo's at the scene of the accident, or get any witness details.0 -
When you contact your insurer, explicitly ask them not to share your contact details with any other party without telling you. Else you will forever get calls and texts from ambulance chasing solicitors and also companies that want to push you into renting an expensive hire car, who will then ask for your credit car details 'to guarantee the rental'.
Insurers get paid a commission for passing on your details.
For some reason, the don't see that in fact they are raising insurance costs for everyone.0 -
They hit the back of you it was their fault. I got hit a few months ago, needed a new rear bumper and a little bit of damage on the rear wing was repaired. I got a hire car for 2 weeks (courtesy of the other party's insurance) while they did the work over Christmas. I renewed my insurance 3 weeks ago and my premium was not affected by the accident. Insurers won't put your premium up if it wasn't your fault and the claim has been completed.0

erm.. I would not be so sure, e.g:
They up your premium for non-fault bump (Honest John Daily Telegraph Column)0 -
Saying the premium will go up or won't go up is a complete waste of words. The truth is that no-one knows.0
