Extremely abusive email from ebay seller

I had the misfortune to purchase a pair of counterfeit shoes. Having never had to return anything before, I sent them back using second class post with proof of postage. Unfortunately they never arrived. I raised a case with ebay but because there was no tracking number nothing could be done.
The seller sent a couple of emails accusing me of stealing the shoes and wanting my money back. Yesterday I left negative feedback for her based only on the fact that she had sold me fake shoes. I have just had the most abusive, threatening and distressing communication from her and I feel physically sick.
Any thoughts please, is it worth reporting to ebay?

Definitely report it to eBay don't let it just pass.0

when you have calmed down, I would add a follow up to your fb to state what she has done (if you have evidence on ebay's messaging system, or it may be removed by ebay on her request)
if she was threatening you, you could contact the police0 -
Did you contact the seller or report the item as fake? And are you absolutely sure they were? If the seller has seen a dispute pop up with no forewarning, they may have just lost their cool.
It's about the third time someone has been advised to call the police. I don't know where you lot live, but "I've had a nasty email" would go down like a lead balloon in Manchester.0 -

you don't know what the communication was like, if it was an email even. The OP used the words abusive and threatening, threats could include violence, we don't know do we?
I think advising someone to contact the police if they have received serious threats doesn't seem strange to me. They may not be serious threats and the police would not be required, but we don't know do we?0 -
Exactly. We don't know do we? Two choices, email or phone call. Can't see the seller at the door somehow. A phone call is less likely to be taken seriously as there's no proof. It'sa a bit early for the riot squad.
There's also now no proof the shoes were fake. Just maybe the seller has a reason to be angry.0 -
The title says extremely abusive email...
OP report to ebay and possibly the IP. Threats over the internet are taken seriously. I'm sorry you were so upset, I hope you are feeling better now.0 -

I do agree! we don't know the content of the email... one persons take on abusive.. could be anothers of getting on the defensive!!! not condoning threatening behaviour... but we don't actually know what has been said here! And we don't know the 'tone' of the buyers communication when they were dealing with the seller initially!
Only saying this because I had a really bad experience with a buyer a couple of years ago that sent me loads of abuse over about 5 emails about a designer top I sold that had not been worn by myself but she insisted it was 'shrunk'!..
it had shrunk... because it was a dry clean only item (that I stated on listing!) that she shoved in her washing machine!!
Not saying that this is the same scenario, but sometimes buyers can get nasty too!0 -

It's not a buyer v. seller situation here, I think you are missing the point.
The content of the communication is what matters, if it comes from a buyer or a seller is irrelevant.
Nasty people are nasty full stop, it doesn't matter if you buy from them or if you sell to them, or bump into them at tesco's0 -
The buyer has my money (and maybe my shoes too). I left negative feedback to inform buyers of the counterfeit shoes, then received her message calling me a thief, a stupid evil b----, a sucker and several other abusive comments.0
