If you don't want to pay anything with your free trial you have to make sure that you don't have any dvds at home when you reach the end date. If you choose the 'unlimited' option and have an outstanding rental list Lovefilm automatically send out the next film(s). A week or so before the end date you should clear the rental list and only cancel after you are sure Lovefilm have your last rentals back.

wanna give this a go but it appears that the Topcashback link doesn't also lead to the amazon voucher freebie trial mentioned above - just a normal free trial. Anyway i can get the cashback as well as amazon voucher?

You can cencel anytime you want but you have to return all the DVD's before cancelling. To my understanding, to get the £15 Amazon voucher you must order at least 10 DVD's. Am I right? I hope this is not the case because I want the voucher but no DVD's

When you sign up for the trial you have to select at least 10 different discs to put in your rentals list (the list of films/games they choose from, when sending you one) but you only have to actually receive 1 of them before you cancel. As I understand it, you won't be able to get a voucher without receiving at least 1 DVD/game.
