Carphone warehouse pricing.

A few weeks back on the carphone warehouse website, they had a htc hd7 on pay as you go on o2 listed as free. Normally the phone would cost around £450.
So I ordered 2 to be delivered at my home address. When I ordered it, it said on the website, out of stock - back order. But later that day, I recieved a dhl tracking number from carphone warehouse saying my items have been dispatched and the should be with me the next day.
I was tracking the item online and on the day of delivery the tracking status read "reciever refused to sign for parcel"
DHL hadn't even come to the house to deliver. I found out after from the driver that carphone warehouse had recalled the package just before he left the depot.
Can carphone warehouse cancel an order once it's been finalised? I've tried getting in touch with them, but i keep getting the same response, they never actually answer my question.
Can anyone shed any light?

Many thanks

Contracts are formed when payment occurs (or rather consideration, not just cash). If they took a payment from you may have a case..

However in this case where it is an obvious error so they can't be forced to honour the contract.
