mobility car (another question)

no doubt you are about to recieve backpay with your award, put it aside and use it during the 'appeal' process if you feel that this may be the case.
My secario.
got awarded 2 years June 2009 got my car Nov 2009, i know in June i have a choice, hold onto the car whilst in appeal (if appeal is needed) or hand car back, but you will know in plenty of time before. i.e recently got my paperwork for dla to do, so i should know in plenty of time if i have still got dla in June0 -
I think it isn't unusual for Motability to be stopped after a year or so into a motability agreement due to loss of higher rate DLA, the reason I say this is that I have seen a lot of cars go through auction that are ex motobility but not three years old.
They all seemed to have damage to them, scuffs, scratches and on several minor accident damage.
Now I think about it, perhaps these cars where taken back when the DLA was withdrawn from those that perhaps shouldn't have had it in the first place, perhaps this would explein why they where always really tatty.
Note, these comments are purely an observation and I am making no comment against the OP.0 -

please post in benefits to confirm if you wish or contact MOTABILITY direct themselfs for info not the dealer because they would like to make money off you and the DWP.
The trouble with that is the customer is limited to borrowing a maximum of £10,750 over a maximum of five and half years. If their needs require a car that is of a higher value, it won't do them much good. As well as, if their DLA, or mobility component, ceases during that time, they are still stuck with paying two hundred pounds a month, irregardless of whether they are eligible for the benefit or not.
Also, there is the "good condition" bonus to consider, £250.00 is not to be sniffed at. Add to that the cost of maintenance etc., it could work out far more expensive. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -

I would recommend going to a different dealership. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -

Ask them to put that in writing for you, I bet that they will not.0
