I might go mad and have a pancake tomorrow.
Does that make me a heathen?0 -
I've never bothered with the "official" pancake day as the religious aspect means nothing to me. If I do cook pancakes they tend to be for breakfast at the weekend, served with lashings of golden syrup, or nutella. Yum yum!0

We just eat our normal dinner then both OH and make the pancakes together... we have at least 3 each with sugar and lemon...our favourite#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

Is Pancake Day a big day in some places? My daughters primary school is dishing out pancakes as a treat there this afternoon, but other than that, its business (and dinner) as usual in our house - always has been.0

When I was little, my mum used to make pancakes sometimes on a Monday and serve left over Sunday lunch on top of it. (Pancake batter is more or less the same as yorkshire pudding batter, after all). It was really yummy. Wish I had time to do a roast dinner tonight to put on top of my pancake. Nutella will just have to do instead. Although baked beans and tuna is also very nice. Might have two pancake courses.0

We will probably have jacket spuds with beans and cheese before the pancakes - no way would my mum let us eat just pancakes for tea!"A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0

We're not doing it tonight as I'm alone here, but I usually do savoury pancakes on Shrove Tuesday. Out of habit we have them stuffed with spinach and feta or ricotta or goat's cheese and with a tomato, onion, carrot, celery and garlic sauce, sometimes with cheese...parmesan, cheddar...whatever we have. Stuff the pancakes, roll them, bake them with th sauce and cheese over till its all melted and steaming. You can then have sweet pancakes afterwards guilt free. You can make make a huge stack of pancakes through the day and prep later too. Pancakes store and reheat well.0
