Most Basic Bank Accounts just offer a cashcard (to take money out the hole in the wall) but some do offer a debit card in the form of either a Solo or Electron card.
Apparently Yorkshire Bank & Clydesdale Bank's Readycash account (which is a Basic account) now comes with a Maestro card: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=251998
But if you want a Visa card then you'll need to apply for a current account.

Thanks for the reply!
I was maybe thinking I could apply for a basic bank account and have my wages and bills on that and use my current bank account (standard barclays one) for purchases/general money. I was also thinking about getting a reward card as well. I havent a clue how to organize all these accounts to work best for me?0 -
Anyone got a better suggestion on how to organize my self better (cards wise)0
