I have a dog and !!!!!, my !!!!! had a sniff at my boy when he came home after neutering, then ignored him. He just lay down and slept, woke up briefly for his dinner then back asleep again til morning, it was absolutely no bother at all.

One tip I would give you is put a pair of jersey boxer shorts on him. Put them on backwards so his tail pops out of the fly, I alweays do this, and never need a buster collar on either of mine if they have any wounds.

He'll be absolutly fine, you'll be way more stressed than he is lol Oh I also had my boy sedated while I was with him, he just flopped into my arms, and was taken straight into threatre, I was called into see him 40 minutes post op, and had him out a couple of hours later, so he went in at 9am, was home by just after 1pm. By day two he was bright as a button, I had a course of rimadyl so was pain free.

That is a great idea to have a garment ready for him to wear. My terrier came home with a plastic collar and hated it and got very distressed in the collar, and I didnt have anything small enough for him to wear to protect the wound. In hindsight I would have bought him babys all in one (worn backwards) so his tail could have stuck out of the gusset snaps! My terrier was sleepy but he wasnt in any pain, I gave him a teeny amount of his usual dry food moistened with warm water.

Well you want him to be stylish don't you lol seriously though, I fond boxers made a massive difference, no stress over the buster collar to cope with, things were much more relaxed because of them ;)

My boy had his bits chopped on Friday, he was very sleepy and cuddley but otherwise fine. He didn't need a collar, he tried to lick a few times but we distracted him and he hasn't bothered with that area since. The boxers are a good idea though!

He just seems so sad at the moment :( I think he is missing his long walks and runs around.

:rotfl: He had a check up yesterday and everything looks ok but he has to go back next week for another check up as he is still very swollen and sore. My poor waddling little boy!

  • My boxer was done when he was about a year old. His recovery period was almost instant, he wasn't that bothered at all and he insisted he went out for a walk later that night.
